Holding out for Quebec’s rare disease strategy

For people affected by rare diseases, the current challenges have only exacerbated their extreme vulnerability and delayed their access to diagnosis, healthcare and treatment. Many patients have found themselves more isolated than ever, with no resources or support.

In Quebec, around 500,000 people are affected by a rare disease. There are more than 7,000 rare diseases worldwide, and in theory, any one of them could affect Quebecers.
