Positive tests for COVID-19 stored in Saguenay

For the past few months, a small number of all Quebecers testing positive for COVID-19 have been living in Saguenay. The thousands of samples have all ended up in one place: in a vast biobank where the biological history of Quebec is catalogued.

The Génome Québec biobank, adjacent to the Chicoutimi hospital, is like a huge biological library. Instead of shelves of books, there are freezers full of samples in test tubes. Millions of samples in which positive COVID-19 tests from all over Quebec are stored.
